from my close friend L.O. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jesus tells the parable of a father who had two sons (St. Luke 15:11-32). One son took his inheritance and left home. The other stayed at home. The former wanted to experience life in the world at large - sensuality and pleasure, having a 'good life' basking in the pride of life and the lust of the flesh. This son was selfish and self-willed. He separated himself, and walked out of his father's will. He had broken relationship and communication with his family. This was a legacy inherited from the Garden of Eden.Adam and Eve broke relationship with God. He squandered all his inheritance and became physically destitute, and bankrupt. He had no money, friends abandoned him, he suffered starvation, and loneliness set in. The result - emptiness and a "pig-sty" situation. Not only was he physically destitute, he was spiritually destitute. He had left God for the world. He had no substance in life. Jesus Christ was not in his vessel, so he could not smile at the storm. This man sank into the misery of life. One day however, he reflected on the wonderful life of love and comfort at home and made a decision - "I will arise and go home to my father." Are you like this son? Have you wandered away, or tempted to wander away from the family of God? Remember - God is love, His love is unlimited, unbounded, strong and unconditional. God is faithful and true. When relatives and friends forget you, the Lord will lift you up. Remember His promise "I will never leave you or forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). In the darkest hours of your life, Jesus is with you. He loves you, that is why He died for you on Calvary. Jesus is the friend of the wounded heart. If you had found Him, and lost Him in your life or if you have never found Him - seek Him today, tomorrow may be too late. As Hebrew 11:6 says "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |
